Samantha Annie Bernstein (she/her) is the author of the memoir Here We Are Among the Living, which was nominated for a B.C. National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction, the poetry collection Spit on the Devil, and the chapbook Kitchen Island Poems.

She holds a PhD in English from York University; her scholarship explores the relationships between class, aesthetics, affect, and social justice.

She lives in Tkaronto/ Toronto with her spouse, children, three cats and an anxious mutt, and teaches Creative Writing and English Literature at York University.
